In the past few months, I've had the opportunity to teach a couple of adults from the Suzuki Violin Volume 1 book. Whenever I teach, I always make sure to teach students how to read music notes. I usually have students write the note names above each note. As students progress through pieces they eventually memorize them.
Sometimes I love showing them videos like this, however.
It sort of reminds me of Guitar Hero. I think it would be really cool if somebody invented a lighted violin (Like those light-up pianos that teach you songs).
I've seen several videos by the author of these videos. They are great for beginners who are visual learners.
